The origins of the business are in Ukraine, where some of the companies of the group still operate. OWLN emerged out of the transportation department of the Ministry of Iron and Steel Industry of Ukraine established in 1967. The Company preserved the core competence of the staff – providing logistics services to mining and smelting enterprises of the CIS countries.
Today, with 25 years of successful commercial experience on the open market, OWLN manages 3 wagon keeper companies, 2 licensed rail freight operators, 3 freight forwarders, and 1 licensed wagon repairs-company. The Company is the only operator in the CIS that preserved unique knowledge base, expertise and traditions of its predecessor.
Other services provided by the group are the lease of railway cargo wagons, rendering of information services related to the location of wagons, control of wagon and cargo delivery on railways and at the marshalling yards of enterprises or ports. It also provides a range of special rail engineering, maintenance and repair services. One of the forwarding companies specialises in developing information systems and digital logistic technologies.
